VeganMoFo and Porn Plates

I admit it, I am addicted to plates. Yep, plates. I cannot go to a garage sale, flea market, discount store, anywhere, without looking for or buying a plate.

These are a few of my favorites.

I also admit, that I am not much of a food photographer. But I don't care, I like to take the pictures. I like to put the food on those pretty plates, and take the picture. My food porn is usually very similar. When possible, I use a black background. I try to get extreme close ups, and I usually only photograph half of the plate or bowl. It's a simple formula that works for me and my cheap camera.

  1. I think its funny that you say you aren't a good photographer and then post that gorgeous picture of plates! I could never take a good picture of plates, it is really nice!

  2. I thought I was the only one there buying up the mismatched plates and bowls. Nothing I have matches. The beautiful white set of china I got 35 years ago goes unused. But those discount plates from Target are all thru my cabinets. People laugh but I so love them. Kohls has some nice ethnic ones on clearance from summer sets. Gotta hit them up while I attend the Hobby Lobby grand opening this wekend.

  3. I love plates too! I started buying individual plates last year and knew I was heading down a dangerous road. I have a thing for the cheapo bright melamine type plates they carry at target.
